Decisions. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Breast or bottle? Sleep sack or swaddle?
Crib or co-sleeper?
The first name, the middle, the nursery paint. What snack to put in your purse for when you feel faint?
There really are about 500 important decisions to make (or so it would seem) when you’re pregnant…starting with your desired birth.
Though you may have an inkling as to where and how you want to labor, you are most likely unaware of how many options are available to you. If you choose a hospital birth, for example, does the facility have a birthing tub? And do the nurses let you walk freely throughout labor? In toying with the idea of a home birth, you may wonder what medical equipment the midwives have on hand, and in what situations they would insist on a transfer. And what’s the deal with birth centers? How are they different from hospitals? And how are they different from a home birth?
What kind of support do you need after baby’s birth? Will your insurance cover it? Will your employer? Will your mother-in-law?
If you or someone you know is expecting, please consider an exciting event coming up in February, hosted by Bump Club and Beyond. We, along with Health Foundations, will be there to help you navigate the chain of choices and to encourage you to find your right path to parenthood!
