Postpartum Recipes: Beyond Basic Kabobs

It’s still summer, people! Soak up every last ray, continue staying up late, smell the flowers and tuck one behind your ear. It. Is. Not. Fall. Yet. Shish-kabobs. A summer staple. Do it up. Here’s my go to recipe…

Marinade :

Soak pieces unskewered for a minimum of 1 hour, maximum of 24…

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup sesame oil (olive will do)
  • whatever juice you can reserve from the pineapple you use…
  • 2 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic

The Goods:

Of course you can get creative here, but I like to use…

  • pineapple chunks
  • skinless, boneless chicken breasts or lean sirloin—cubed
  • whole button mushrooms
  • red onion, thick slices
  • red bell pepper

Slide on to your skewers. I like the ones that twist.

Grill and enjoy! Awesome with any kind of rice…
