Postpartum doulas tend to glorify moms. That’s fair. Moms are pretty darn cool and–you know–kind of our thing.

This week, it’s Dad’s turn to shine!  Happy Father’s Day, papas! Thank you, thank you for all you do for Mama and Baby. We see you! You rock!

To help get this party started, we’ve come up with a little list of ideas for your Twin Cities Dad’s Day festivities…

Take Dad on a day trip to the UK! Rugby and soccer on telly, pints o’ ale, bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, and rooftop lawn bowling!

Classic, old school St. Paul neighborhood restaurant. Great breakfast, strong coffee, many fireplaces. Very Dad.

For a family day out that appeals to Dad’s liking. Craft beers, live music, street food, vendors, plus face painting and fun for the kids–all along scenic Saint Anthony Main.

If Dad INSISTS on bonding with the kiddos, this is the way to go. Fun tunes for kids, bluegrass style for Dad. The zoo amphitheater is summer happy with the occasional tiger’s roar in applause of the music.

Gourmet burgers, beer, and wine. Wood and brick, sports at the bar, huge beer selection, salty hand cut fries. But you had him at burger…

For the outdoorsy dad who’d rather keep it local than take an actual Father’s Day camping trip. Paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, fishing, and walking trails. Make it a picnic day or check out the Tin Fish restaurant at the pavilion for seafood, burgers, ice cream, wine and beer.
